In February, our group co-organised OrgN2014 – International workshop on organic nitrogen and plant nutrition in Ascona, Switzerland.
The workshop provided a forum to link from the molecular and physiological function of plants to ecosystem processes. The workshop brought together leading experts, early career researchers and industry representatives from relevant sub-fields and was attended by 53 participants from 14 countries, 11 of which were early career researchers (<33 years). We achieved a happy gender balance with 45 % female participants and 42 % female speakers.
The photos show workshop attendees (right) and the winner of the Centro Stefano Franscini award, Richard Brackin, for best early career presentation with CSF director Dr Chiara Cometta (top left).
